Winter’s Blessings

By

Hello everybody. It is a balmy 28 degrees here in Shady Dale. The faucets are dripping. The babies are snug in their red buffalo check sleepers. The heat is on full blast and yet I am still bundled up like an Eskimo. In times like this, I am grateful for electricity – heater, fans, Wi-Fi, firestick, etc. Im watching Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I’ve got a load of PhD work to do. Will is sleeping on the chair. Shae is in the bouncer. Ben and Charli are sharing the new cradle from the Ukraine. We are supposed to get a fresh blanket of snow on Saturday. Wonder how that will conflict with my training on that same day.

This post is labeled Winter’s blessings because when the weather is presenting the extremities, one becomes thankful for the most basic of things: clean air, clean water, electricity, warm blankets, reborns, compelling stories, medicine that works, faith, and God.

As much as I love taking pictures of my babies in various wintry settings like Christmas, red truck, etc, I really miss summer weather. Gotta get past Easter first. We are currently in Carnival season/Mardi Gras.

I love the close up picture of Ben and his UGA and LSU outfits. And the pics of the kids at the pool and the beach, ahhhhh bliss. These are photos of the babies when they’re a bit older. AI took their facial constructs and generated an image that would be my babies were they living and breathing. I have fallen in love with an image in addition to my physical babies. Crazy you might say, but then people fall in love with Jesus, a prophet they have never physically met or seen, All of this relies on faith and love, a phenomenon that crosses all bounds.
